Return to Chicago Culinary Kitchen- new house

Highly Recommended ***** BBQ! I love BBQ! And thanks to my granddaughter Caitlin and several listeners to Around The Town on WCPT, we found an absolutely amazing BBQ in Palatine. For those of you who read the original review of the luncheon shared with Frank, Caitlin and Andrew in their South Palatine location, you learned a great deal about the owner/creators of this amazing BBQ “house”, Chicago Culinary Kitchen- and its old systme of Saturday and Sunday ONLY from 11 am until they are SOLD OUT!

Tonight, Jane and I drove “down the road” to Lake Cook Road and Old Hicks in Palatine. The NEW home for Greg and Kristina’s “baby”. We arrived around 5:30. There is plenty of parking, and we watched as people came out with food they had just ordered and entered to taste the amazing items waiting for them inside. Now remember, Jane did not join us at the original, she only heard Frank and I raving about it.

We learned a valuable lesson tonight- don’t plan ahead and come at 5:30. Some of what you want may be gone. Most of the items that Jane wanted to try were!!

We ended up doing the pulled pork, the Oklahoma Onion Burger and an order to their Giant Cornbread ( which it turned out, they were indeed out of) and a side order of Mac ‘n cheese ( a delight).

The food was good and as always fresh. Remember, they open at 11 a.m. and stay open until they run out of food.

Yes, Jane and I did have a discussion about this. Jane’s reaction was that people will not come if they run out of things. I said, if they want certain items, they will come earlier. OR SHOULD!

The place is much larger with a bar, great inside seating and a wonderful patio area that is both inside and outside for great comfort. You order your food, pay for it and a server will bring it to your table ( or if carry-out, call your number).

Simple, easy, efficient and yummy!

The new location is 2391 Hicks Road in Palatine ( Hicks Road at Lake Cook Road) and they are CLOSED MONDAY and TUESDAY

Wednesday- Saturday  11 am until they are sold out ( or 8 p.m.)

Sundays 11 a.m until they are sold out ( or 7 p.m.)

Their slogan is “When its gone, its gone!” That is the truth, it’s factual Every thing is satisfactual!  I must tell you the food is worth the trip
