“Medium Rare” steaks to grill

[rating=5] I know that this spot is where a restaurant might appear, and of course, now with the Covid 19 situation, we are bringing the dinners to our home, but perhaps there is even another alternative. A few years back we did a story about a meat company in the burbs that can ship everywhere. Now, just recently, I was advised that the steaks we have eaten at places such as Gibson’s on Rush Street can be delivered to your door so that you can enjoy yhis high quality prepared the way you like it for your family ( at least those who are with you). We just enjoyed the best of the best- USDA Prime Filets Center Cut  8 ounces from this wonderful source. By the way, we are also going to enjoy a few Prime Ribeye Bone in on Sunday ( 24 ounces each).

Here is my story:

The steaks arrived at our door delivered in a refrigerated package, each steak sealed in special wrappings that allowed for right into the freezer or fridge depending on when one was to dine. We put the Ribeyes in the freezer and the filets in the fridge. Jane seasoned them today so that we could enjoy them on our grill this evening. And did we?

They are thick so one had to be careful. We like the outside of the steak a bit crusty and the inside a little pink and juicy. I was able to watch over these “babies” and get the just right. From the photo, one might think they were “well done”, but they were just perfect. We added some “tater tots” and veggies to complete what was the perfect Friday night dinner. The meat was perfect with very little fat and wrapped to perfection making the chore of preparation easy. I m looking forward to the next steaks so that I can get back to you on those. They look impressive. I am sure they are.!

What a delight! While the Filet is still Jane’s favorite, this steak shared by us with some great French fries done with our new Air Fryer ( making them delicious and healthier), a great meal.
